Jumbo Seafood Restaurant
Jumbo is not a new name for Singaporeans. Since 1987, Jumbo has become a regular place for people to gather and share a good seafood meal together. The prices at Jumbo are reasonable and there are famous signature dishes which had become top sellers for many years and earning praises from tourists and visitors.
The crowds and the long queues outside the Jumbo restaurant are testimonials to their popularity. The Jumbo group has 6 branches in Singapore. A special mention goes to the East coast branch; it is half-in-the-open and looks more like a traditional Chinese restaurant. There are huge tables, large fans and the children will be running through or around the tables and waiters. The diners can enjoy the wonderful seafood while viewing the vast beautiful sea.
The visitors to the Clark Quay branch are typically armed with cameras and video recorders. These shutterbugs will be busy aiming their optical instruments on their food or at the river. Most of them, have come for the signature dishes such as the black pepper crabs, the beef string beans, the Peking spare ribs, the seafood clay pot, the taro duck, just to name a few. Sometimes it gets so crowded that several groups of diners have to be seated at one common large table. Sharing table may be unusual for the Westerners but it is totally fine with the Asians.
The Jumbo restaurant is famous for its crab dishes. Even the crab connoisseurs will give 2 thumbs up for these tasty crab dishes. Pepper crab, butter crab, chilli crab are popular. The butter crab is highly recommended by Westerners for its perfect combination of crab meat and butter. The barbecued duck is another popular dish that most diners would order. The tender meat coated with the crispy skin would delight your taste palates.
Visitors exploring the Chinese seafood restaurants in Singapore would invariably tick the Jumbo restaurant as among their top 3 choices; some would even swear to be the best around!(■Singapore360°ï¼‰

Brotzeit
“Brotzeit is a modern & contemporary German Bier Bar & Restaurant that exudes the ‘New Germany’ experience.” It’s what they say on the official description of Brotzeit, it’s also what you feel about this restaurant when you step into it. Opened in 2006, Brotzeit offers authentic Bavarian cuisine in a contemporary yet chic setting. The outlets in Vivo City and Somerset both use wood elements on their benches, tables, bar counter and the staff dressed in Bavarian garb. The artificial mural on the wall tells the story of Germen beer, which adds highlight on its decoration.
"Brotzeit" is a typical Bavarian expression – "Brot" being German for bread and "Zeit" for time, referring to a cosy meal complemented by fresh beer. Pick the Vivo outlet if you are a fan of nice waterside view and the long summer breeze. The signature dish called Platter, as you can see from the picture, is heaven for those meat lovers. The huge pork knuckle and variety of sausages could even satisfy 4-5 people’s appetite. Brotzeit is also famous for its pure German beers which was made with German spring water. Even the people who lived in Germany for years would recommend it.
Tasting traditional food in unconventional surroundings is utterly satiated. It's a good place for family, the young, and foodies who seek novelty on food. Come and have a try!(■Singapore360°ï¼‰
