Toast Box
Toast Box is a reflection of the coffee shops from the 60s and 70s, where the common practice for breakfast was a fragrant cup of Nanyang Coffee accompanied by freshly toasted bread. Inspired by the local culture of Singapore, Toast Box offers a 360 degree sensory experience with contemporary ambiance. This warm, nostalgic concept was reinvented to bring back fond memories for those who missed the good old times and for the younger ones to experience the feel and flavours of a bygone era.
Toast Box Nanyang Kopi
Toast Box's signature traditional pulled Nanyang Kopi, which we fondly call in Southeast Asia, is still the quintessential beverage at all Toast Box outlets.
Toast Box Peanut Butter Thick Toast
Here at Toast Box, they take bread-and-butter issues very seriously. That's why their toast is the on the outside and heavenly soft inside. Their signature creamy and crunchy Peanut Butter Thick Toast is a must-try! Other toppings include Floss, Otah and Hebi Hiam
Toast Box Traditional Toast
The all-time favourite! The Kaya Toast! Bite into their Kaya Toast and experience its scrumptiously crusty bits on the outside and heavenly soft toast within. Savor the sweetness of coconut jam and a slice of butter bursting in your mouth. Crave for more!
Other signature dishes include Curry Chicken, Laksa (spicy noodle soup), Mee Siam (vermicelli in spicy, sweet and sour gravy), Mee Rebus (noodles in spicy potato-based gravy) and homemade Nasi Lemak (coconut-flavoured rice seasoned with a combination of ingredients).
Toast box has more than 70 outlets located all over Singapore. It is easy to find and convenient as it is literally everywhere in Singapore.
Lau Pa Sat
Open 24 hours daily, Lau Pa Sat is the place to be for patrons looking to fill their bellies with good food and to immerse themselves in a market steeped in the history and traditions of old Singapore.
Lau Pa Sat is renamed after Telok Ayer Market which is built in the 19th century and was gazetted as a national monument in 1973. It is a true Singapore landmark, situated in the heart of the financial district. The market has a distinctive octagonal shape with ornamental columns and a graceful clock tower located on top of the octagonal structure.
The market has long been converted into a hawker centre offering the best of local delights. Like a plate of Hainanese chicken rice, a bowl of Laksa or a plate of oyster omelette etc while appreciating the elegant old-world charm of Singapore’s loveliest food court. Besides local cuisine, there are also Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Indian and Korean food stalls. The foods are of decent quality with food court prices.
It is best to visit the place after 7pm as this is when the Satay Street opens. Situated just behind the building, the road is closed from traffic every evening, when the sellers set up their barbeque pits and try to tempt you with the tasty meat on sticks. Sitting on the plastic tables with a beer and the famous snack is a fun way to end your time at the Lau Pa Sat.
