Marina Barrage: Rooftop Park

Marina Barrage is a multi-purpose attraction in Singapore. Although its main function serves as a dam - aiding water storage and flood control for the whole of Singapore - most visitors know Marina Barrage because of its rooftop park.

The park with a green grass floor is a place of recreation, proving especially popular for picnics as well as dates!  It is a perfect place for kite flying as it is located right next to the sea which makes it the windiest spot. If you don’t have a kite, you can purchased one easily from the shop downstairs.

Plan your arrival at evening time (when the day’s heat has subsided a little) to see the stunning sunset view. At this place, you also have the chance to glance at other popular visitors’ attractions such as the Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest, Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore Flyer, and the CBD’s skyscrapers at one go.

Dialogue in the Dark Singapore

What if you had to go through your daily routine without seeing anything?

Dialogue in the Dark (DiD) is one of the world’s most exciting life-changing experiences where visitors are guided by blind guides in absolute darkness. DiD is an international enterprise, it has been represented in more than 41 countries. DiD Singapore puts visitors in everyday situations - except in complete darkness. Simple things like crossing the street or visiting a hawker centre suddenly become extraordinary challenges. Visitors must navigate within the exhibition area jn the dark, with the help of guides who are blind. Daily routines become exciting and a reversal of role is created where the sighted become blind and the blind become sighted. This is a fresh kind of experiential learning, very hands-on and thought-provoking. The sensory adventure of Dialogue in the Dark Singapore offers a unique learning opportunity for visitors of all ages.

Christmas Village at Orchard Road

Christmas is around the corner and have you thought of where to go during the Christmas festivities? If no, then maybe you can check out the Christmas Village along Orchard Road. This is the first Christmas village complete with a festive fare in Singapore. It was launched with pyrotechnics, a light show and a rousing performance from local singer Alex Chia. And to top it off, fireworks crackled and lit up the night sky.

Christmas village will feature a double-decker carousel, as well as participating stores of more than 25 brands, including Starbucks, Toast Box, PAUL and Royal Selangor just to name a few. Three amusement rides, craft activities and a roaming balloon sculptor will add to the fanfare. Even Santa himself will also drop by for the photo takings.
The Christmas village entrance is free, it is located at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza and will be opened from Nov 25 to Christmas Day, from 11am to 10pm on Sundays to Thursdays and 11am to 11pm on Fridays, Saturdays and during the Christmas week.

From 8pm onwards on Christmas Eve, local bands will perform the Christmas classics ahead of a pyrotechnics show at midnight.

Changi Airport Terminal 4

The Changi Airport is one of the famous landmarks in Singapore. It is known for its spiffy facilities like the 4 storey high slides, a 24/7 movie theatre and even a butterfly garden.

Just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, Changi Airport recently one-upped itself by unveiling Terminal 4. It also has many amazing features and aesthetics. One of them will be the heritage zone with digital theatre show, it is a row of Baroque and Rococo shophouse replicas showing a mini digital theatre show titled Peranakan Love. This reveals our rich local culture.

The other one will be the immersive wall where it is a giant LED screen which plays whimsical and wanderlust-inducing animations. T4 also has been equipped with high-tech facilities like automated check-in with facial recognition machines to ease and speed up the departure and arrival processes.

Changi Airport isn’t just an airport, it is a national treasure and visiting it is an experience in itself. So even if you aren’t jetting off for a vacation anytime soon, it will be fun to head down anyway to check out this spanking new airport terminal.

Pulau Ubin Island

Need a trip get away from Singapore City on weekends? Yes, Pulau Ubin! The smaller neighbouring island is worth exploring and offers a different experience. This boomerang shaped island lying in the Straits of Johore, has an area of 10.2 square kilometres and sits just off the north-eastern corner of mainland Singapore. A 10 minute bumboat ride (motorised sampan) from Changi Point Ferry Terminal will bring you onto the shores of Pulau Ubin. The standard ticket price means you will have to wait until the boat is full but if you are in a hurry, you can get the boat to leave immediately by paying a higher fare.

What you can do at the island?  Cycling is a great way to explore Ubin at your own pace. There are bicycles for rent to suit every preference. Mountain bikes, tandem bikes, tricycles, even bikes with side carts for babies or really lazy partners. But there are lots of slops and the roads are not as flat and nice to ride on compared to places like the East Coast Park. If you prefer to explore the island on foot you have to lace up those hiking shoes because there are plenty to see here. Take a 40 minute walk to Chek Jawa Wetlands where you will be greeted by gorgeous sea views, a natural rocky shore and a mangrove swamp at the end of a boardwalk. There are pretty sceneries and interesting plants along the way too. There are quite a few places where you can stop by for drinks along the routes.

Be warned that you could get used to the slow pace of life here – it is too easy to leave your worries behind.

LaserOPS

LaserOPS is founded by a group of laser tag enthusiasts who dreamed of developing an unparalleled interactive indoor laser tag experience in Singapore.

There are a total of 3 games comprising of individual and team games. The system will automatically calculate the number of points and accuracy of the shooting. It's fun when you have enough people to form up 3 teams and have the entire place all by yourself. The vest blinks brightly and it's easy to find the targets enabling the gun laser to point and aim at the targets easily. The play area is of good size with many walls to take over and hide in. The air con also help you to keep your cool too.

You will have a really good experience; the quality of the laser guns and vests are superb. The arena is solid and the music and special effects (lights, sounds and even some mist) are really good. You won't really know at first but by the end of the game you will be really sweating. Although you may think that it costs slightly more than other laser tags, but the money spent is really worth it. It is of no surprise that by far it is the best laser tag in Singapore. For large groups, advance booking is recommended because they don't always have walk-in vacancies. In fact early booking is advised because the shooting slots run out quickly.
