[Fishing Culture]

Fishing by the stream along the sentimental landscapes is regarded by the ancients as an elegant way of self-cultivation. Many scholars and poets are inspired to express their hearts and souls, leaving scrolls and scrolls of beautiful poems for the next generations. The wordings used in these written poems about fishing are enriched with the spirit of the fishermen who at the same time are expressing their feelings. These poems are the precious cultural heritage that is being praised and recited even with people today.

Let’s promote Chinese chess and baijiu together as a part of the Chinese culture.

[Baijiu and Weiqi’s culture]

Baijiu and Weiqi formed a bond from the early part of Chinese history. Not only are the cultural characteristics unique, they are also very significant. The famous poet - Du Mu has a poem “Lin Zhong Sao Shi An Qi Ju, Yan Xia Fen Quan Ti Jiu Bei”, this poem painted landscape, baijiu and chess into a beautiful chinese masterpiece, simply fascinating. In August, we held a Weiqi Competition under the sponsorship of Moutai. Play Weiqi and drink baijiu; taste the fragrance of baijiu at the tip of your tongue, enjoy the excitement from the black and white chess; promoting the chinese culture of baijiu blended with chess artistry.

The Hungry Ghost Festival Dinner Event!



The Hungry Ghost Festival Dinner Event last night was very successful with the support of Dr. Lily Neo, a member of parliament. During this event, a charity auction was also held and the Baijiu - Wuliangye was one of the items for auction sponsored by Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd. The proceeds from this auction will be used to fund the Kreta Ayer Seniors Activity Center (they were also present here at the event, Fig 9)



“Philanthropic Minded” has always been the belief of Mr. Charles Oon, Chairman of Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd. During last night’s charity auction, Mr. Charles Oon bid the highest priced item of the night to show his sincerity and support for the charity. It is our honor to receive this auctioned item from parliamentary member Dr. Lily Neo and Mr. Bernard Leong, the Chairman of the Chinatown Business Association. Our Wuliangye was bidded by various Wuliangye fans at the event. This event was very meaningful and we would always show our support when it comes to charity works.

The 3rd Teochew Traditional Adult Ceremony “Chu Hua Yuan” was hosted by Singapore Kityang Huay Kwan on the 19th of August. It was a rare sight to see such Chinese rituals that contain customs and virtues in Singapore nowadays, hence it was important that the rituals were being passed down to our next generations.  It warms our heart that Singapore Kityang Huay Kwan was revitalizing this tradition so that more people can have a deeper understanding of the value and significance of the Chinese culture. Thumbs up for Singapore Kityang Huay Kwan. Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd was very honoured to present our Wuliangye as the prize for the lucky draw. Congratulations to the 2 lucky winners! (Fig 3 & 4)



It is a great honor to meet the president of the Kityang Huay Kwan in Singapore - Mr. Hong Jing Yuan (Fig 1, left) and the banquet's main organizer cum Senior Minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry - Dr. Xu Bao Zhen (Fig 2).

2018 First “Black & White Wisdom” Weiqi/Go Competition!



2018 First “Black & White Wisdom” Weiqi/Go Competition was successfully held at the Hotel Grand Pacific on 18th August 2018 (Saturday)! The 26 contestants are experienced individuals, whom skills cannot be underestimated. This Weiqi/Go Competition was organized by Singapore China Baijiu Association and co-organized by Singapore China Baijiu Pte Ltd as well as Singapore Weiqi Association. Fig 9 (From left to right): Singapore Weiqi Association President  - Mr. Fu Qi Fa; Singapore Weiqi Association former President - Mr. Tian Yin He; Singapore Weiqi Association Honorary President - Dr. Huang Shang Zhe and Singapore China Baijiu Association’s Chairman - Mr. Charles Oon.

The competition was divided into 5 rounds, with a total of 26 contestants (13 groups). All the contestants were focused and completely immersed in the game.

After 5 intense rounds of competition, all the contestants still look energized and happy. Although this was a competition, but it did not stop them from making friends~ Photos were taken with our Moutai during their free time.

Here comes the part where all of us were anticipating - the Awards Ceremony! Congratulations to our Champion - Ke Jie Hui (6 dan); Second Place - Liu Rui Ming (5 dan) and Third Place - Shen Yi Xiao (5 dan). Once again, let’s congratulate the winners for winning the games and receiving the grand prizes that we have prepared. At the same time, we would like to thank Singapore Weiqi Association for their help in making this competition a successful one.



Even though this was a competition, but it was more like a gathering for the Weiqi/Go players. During the individual’s spare time, they discuss the game and guide one another for improvements. This is exactly what our chairman - Mr. Charles Oon has anticipated. Other than promoting the Chinese culture, improving the relationship between one another makes the inheritance of culture much more meaningful. While the game was still ongoing inside the competition hall the President and Honorary President of Singapore Weiqi Association could not help but play a game of Weiqi too. (fig 6).
