Funan Digital Life Mall

All Singaporeans know Funan DigitalLife Mall was the must-go-to-mall for tech and IT products. It shuttered its doors in 2006 but now the mall is fully revamped that includes a space expansion by 1.8 times of its former size which now stands at 889,000 sq ft. While Funan is still staying true to its tech roots with multiple IT stores, the revamped mall has become more than just a place for techies and computer geeks. Besides 180 retail brands focusing on six themes – tech, craft, play, fit, chic, and taste — the mall also boasts features like:
An indoor cycling track
An urban farm and food garden
A multimedia art installation, and
A tree-like structure spanning from Basement 2 to Level 4 that houses 20 retail pods. Here are some of the highlights:

Urban rooftop farm

Need some fresh air after shopping? Go up to the Urban Farm on the rooftop for some fresh air. The roof gardens faces the disc-shaped structure of the Supreme Court and do take note the only lift that goes to the rooftop is at Lobby A; alternatively you can also take the stairs.

Everything grown here is edible, and although not open for public purchase, you can find these vegetables being used in the mall’s farm-to-table eateries like Noka.

Sports Facilities
Funan DigitalLife mall is Singapore’s first bicycle and PMD friendly mall which you can ride in with your e-scooter along the dedicated path, but do stick within the speed limit! Always make sure of other shoppers on foot.

Located at the rooftop, it has a futsal court where you can have a friendly game with your pals You will need to pre-book with CapitalStar app.

One of the most anticipated things is the indoor rock climbing, the Climb Central. It has set up a fifteen meter wall with 50 lanes that you can try and not to worry about fighting for space even during peak periods.

Shopping and F&B

KOPItech (Unit: B2-24)

Kopitiam goes high tech. At KOPItech, don’t worry about the queueing nightmare that we are all afraid of. You can now order your food from a kiosk and collect it when your number flashes on-screen.

Nasty Cookie (Unit: 02-35)

Nasty Cookie is indeed ‘nasty’ with their chewy and gooey cookies that are full of sugary toppings such as Oreos, chocolate chips, speculoos biscuits. Do you know what’s better? To complete your cookies with a rich injection of nutella, marshmallow or dulce de leche sauce.

Love Bonito (#02-09)

Experience an AR runway at Love Bonito’s largest store. The pastel pink eye catching store is definitely more than just a boutique, it specifies on the whole shopping experience.
Multiple spots around the store for you to update your Instagram. Especially the augmented reality (AR) runway. Simply just activate it by scanning a  QR code with your smartphone and as you twirl along the passage, the screen will be bloomed with flowers.
In summary, I feel Funan Digital mall has revamped successfully.  No longer just an electronics mall, it has new selection of food, shopping and entertainment options now open! Time to add in this mall to your go-to list and explore the new Funan!

The Moon

Bibliophiles, dreamers, and romantic souls now have a place to relax in your spare time – The Moon. Just opened last year September, The Moon is a bookstore, cafe, and event space that’s nestled conveniently just a 3-minute walk away from Chinatown MRT station. This place feels almost magical with their tall wooden shelves packed full with books and warm dim lighting. Filled with a specially curated selection of books that has genres ranging from fiction novels and poetry to travel guides and cookbooks, customers can find gems like literary classics with adorably illustrated covers, thought-provoking reads on current affairs, and limited-edition hardbacks that cannot be found anywhere else in Singapore.

Owner Sarah Naeem, 27, got the idea for the bookstore two years ago when she invited her Singaporean friend Lee Jiaqian, 25, to visit Readings, a secondhand bookshop "full of dust and character" in her hometown of Lahore, Pakistan. Sarah Naeem moved to Singapore eight years ago, she has decided to fulfil her dream of starting a bookstore so she quit her job in client service at a branding agency last year and started filling up the shelves.

Whereas for the name “The Moon”, it was inspired by the feeling of being ‘over the moon’ which is what the owner wants this space to evoke.

Choose to either enjoy some coffee and cakes at the cafe area or bring them up to the reading room on the 2nd floor to cosy up with a good read! Furnished with plush sofas, thick carpets, and plump cushions strewn all over, it’s homely and perfect for huddling for long hours. To top that off, there’s even free WiFi and powerpoints available.

The Little Dröm Store

This hipster shop is brimming with all things whimsical. ‘Dröm’ stands for ‘dream’ in Swedish and indeed it is a total dreamer’s paradise. Stacked high with fun postcards, limited edition photo books, vintage Polaroid cameras, intricately designed retro notebooks and a whole lot of nostalgia-inducing knick-knacks.

The standout Singaporean merchandise from the Little Dröm Store are the Strangely Singaporean & Proud Of It series of badges in old-skool designs (above).

The Chope! Project, collectibles and publication that draw on the humorous side of Singapore’s kopi tiam (coffee-shop) vernacular (above); and the Playground Series of totes and badges inspired by public playgrounds from the 80s. This place will surely brings back a lot of fond memories!

Jewel Changi Airport

One of our national pride would definitely be the Singapore Changi Airport, which has been recognized as the world’s best airport for six consecutive years. The long awaited new S$1.7 billion project development, Jewel Changi Airport is set to open its door on April 17. However, you can catch the preview from April 11 to 16 before the official launch, for free! The preview tickets will be available from 12 March, 6 am onwards at jewelpreview.com.

The multi-dimensional lifestyle mall is an absolute game changer for Jewel Changi Airport where it brings the outdoors indoors. In line with its theme, Jewel makes use of eco friendly energy by using solar energy and harvesting rainwater for the 40m high Rain Vortex - which happens to be another world record, the world’s highest indoor waterfall.

Integrating nature, the vast selection of dining and retail options spanning 280 different stores over 10 storeys, which includes the largest Nike store in Southeast Asia, a Pokemon’s merch store and the highly-anticipated A&W’s comeback amongst many others, allow both tourists and locals to enjoy a seamless experience of nature and retail all under one roof.

Jewel is located next to Terminal 1 and linked to T2 and T3 via air-conditioned pedestrian linkways. Its distinctive structure with the dome-shaped facade of glass and steel is designed by architect Mr. Moshe Safdie, whom is well known for his iconic Marina Bay Sands integrated resort.

In addition of the lifestyle offerings, Jewel Changi Airport will offer aviation facilities that will enhance travellers’ experience, such as early check-in, integrated ticketing and baggage services.
