Tamarind Hill Restaurant

Thai food is very common in Singapore, what about Authentic Thai Cuisine with an innovative twist? Hidden atop the forested green Labrador Nature Reserve is Tamarind Hill Restaurant, serving traditional and contemporary Siamese cuisine. What’s even more special? The restaurant is located inside a stand-alone historic colonial bungalow amid a vastly green surrounding.

There is an outdoor and indoor seating area, it can accommodate about 180 diners. Coming here can be a hassle as it is quite “ulu” (rural) and troublesome to travel without a car. The atmosphere here is very comfy and relaxing, it feels as though you are out of town on a vacation.

A must-try menu from their appetizers section is the Lychee Duck Salad. You usually wouldn’t pair something as sweet as lychee with a savoury ingredient like Duck meat, but the salad over here is done so well that everything compliments one another. The sweetness and juiciness from the lychee really add a touch to the duck meat; How can you skip Tom Yum Soup while dining at a Thai Cuisine Restaurant?! They sell Clear Tom Yum Soup here, packed with robust flavours and filled with fresh ingredients. The soup is spicy and sour, very appetizing and the seafood flavours are well infused into the soup.
